The Dragon Who Ate Our School

Whilst looking at what feels like thousands and thousands of educational video clips during my day job, I came across a poem that made me smile out loud (sol!) which I don’t think I’ve done in the last two months of watching educational videos. Being made to watch them is like being made to learn your times tables, or learning your French verbs. You just have to do it.

I feel like I am back at school myself, watching & reviewing clip after clip on similes, metaphors, what it is to be Jewish, Muslim, Roman Catholic, and what makes the Earth go round the Sun. I’ve also been reminded about how cool Poetry can be. I  came across a poem that reminded me how much I disliked school, and how like now in working life, there really is no way around it. How you used to relish those snow days, and hoped that the pipes would burst, to have just one extra day to play with the gifts you got recently for Xmas,  or just watch ET one last time.

But if I had the choice, of all the ways to get out of school, this, explained through performance poetry, would be the best:
